When the Winter War started in 1939, the situation looked quite bad for the Finnish Air Force (FAF). FAF had 31 fighters  (mainly Fokker D.XXI and Gloster Gladiator) and 17 bombers (Bristol Blenheim) against the Soviet Red Air Force ca. 700 fighters and 800 medium bombers.

We played a Sturmovik Commander game with “Air Superiority Scenario 3: Scramble!”. The task of the Soviet Air Forces was to bomb the the Malmi airfield (major airfield close to Helsinki, the Capital of Finland). Finnísh Air Forces had planes both in the air and at the air field. New Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2′s had been bought from Germany. Some of these were already in service while some of them were being serviced in the hangars the airfield. It was of great importance for Finns to protect the new more capable planes which would even the odds in the air a bit.

I’ve just put the updated Luftwaffe squadron list (v.1001) to the rulepack. You may go to our download section to get it (it is also included as the separate file for some time). It is very important update, so if you are Luftwaffe player you have to download it as soon as possible

I’m very happy with this file – it adds A LOT of new planes, corrects found bugs, adds new ordnance options and changes some points cost. I’ll try to make every new or updated squadron list maked in this new, detailed style.
